Huna Natural Apothecary sprung into the Canadian natural skincare scene and began taking orders through our webstore this past year. Huna’s approach to ‘simple skin nutrition’ has been incredibly well-received…we more than doubled our targets in this first year and the glowing feedback + mad-love you’ve shared for Huna products has been overwhelming! (Aw shucks…we’re blushing!)

2015 was a big year! In addition to launching the Huna webstore, we created our first brand logo, started spreading the ‘Huna’ word across several social media platforms (Facebook, Pinterest + Twitter), and launched several exciting products to feed + nourish your skin naturally. 2015 was a year of constant learning + innovation for Huna, with plenty of time devoted in the Lab. We developed our very own exclusive Age-Grace botanical-active called ‘GLA-Complex’. It’s a proprietary blend of nature’s richest sources of GLA fatty acid; extracted from the seeds of borage, black currant + evening primrose…you can find it in our new Revitalize Featherlight Face Lotion with rose, silk + GLA-Complex.

Heather Urquhart (huna founder + formulator) upped her organic formulating skills this year with the completion of a Natural Cosmetic Preservation certificate, while she continues her studies in Anti-Age Skincare Formulation and Herbalism into 2016. huna’s signature Revitalize Face Serum with rosehip + sea buckthorn berry was our 2015 glowing best-seller, while we were excited to introduce huna Men’s Natural Skincare this Winter season. 2016 is looking even BIGGER!

As we look to 2016, we are excited + eager to share our adventures, happenings + big plans for huna Natural Apothecary! We are planning a crowdfunding campaign early this year, to help us fund a website upgrade that is in the works, along with a new look for our products. We can’t wait to launch our new Eco-friendly packaging this February 2016!

Our Organic Medicinal Botanical Garden is officially kicking off this year, and we look forward to sharing our adventures in growing organic Chamomile, Lavender, Calendula, Borage, Licorice + Echinacea from seed, then harvesting + processing it for use in huna Natural Apothecary skincare. That’s right…2016 is the year that huna will grow its own skincare…from Seed to Serum, so to speak!

Heather has embarked on a Chartered Herbalist diploma, and we look forward to growing huna’s line of simple.skin.nutrition this year, featuring even more organic, locally + sustainably-sourced ingredients. Lots of exciting happenings are planned for this year + we are looking forward to our Friends + Family Events, running Contests (stay tuned to WIN huna skincare + healthy-living goodies!), sharing skin nutrition + killer confidence tips from Orly Wachter (The Skincare Dietitian), and much more! Loyal huna customers can look forward to the launch of our huna Loyalty Program to earn free rewards for product, and the huna Referral Program will help you earn free skincare while you help us grow through 2016!
