I’m writing a blog about Formula Botanica; the international organic cosmetic science where I currently study and share experiences alongside a global community of Natural Skincare Formulators and Entrepreneurs. I cannot speak enough about having the right foundation of skills, education and experience before setting off on a career formulating, manufacturing and selling natural skincare products to the public. Joining the Formula Botanica School and its global community of talented, ambitious and creative Natural Skincare Formulators, have far exceeded my expectations. Being a part of the school means joining a diverse community of formulation experts, skincare professionals, hobbyists, entrepreneurs and savvy small business owners, with representation from over 70 countries around the world.

Studying at Formula Botanica was a great decision- it’s definitely advanced my formulation and skincare knowledge to the next level. I entered Formula Botanica with a strong foundation, including a Bachelor’s in botany/microbiology, laboratory experience, and several years working with a major multinational skincare & cosmetics giant. I had already obtained a diploma and had experience formulating natural products, however Formula Botanica’s certificates in Natural Cosmetic Preservation and Organic Anti-Aging Skincare, have allowed me to hone my skills as a professional formulator and develop more sophisticated and high-performance formulations.

The school has provided me with the right skills, knowledge, education, experience, creative inspiration and network to build huna Natural Apothecary into a growing botanical skincare brand offering Canadian women natural and effective anti-age solutions. At huna, our natural anti-age products are called “Age-Grace”, with many exciting new products launching regularly.

Being part of the Formula Botanica School, means you are part of a network of talented, ambitious and professional international natural formulators and skincare experts. I am honoured to be part of a community which offers thought-provoking discussions, innovative solutions, shares key research findings, and motivates each other every day, all in the setting of a diverse global community. The school offers something for everyone, with varying levels of experience and expertise, and everyone brings a positive, helpful and supportive perspective. We discuss a range of topics from formulating, preservation, ingredients, suppliers, consumer trends and needs, marketing and business, or just offer each other support, motivation and some needed cheering on! It’s a very supportive environment, and I learn something new from the online discussions every day.

I strongly believe Formula Botanica’s graduates are the future trailblazers of the natural skincare industry. Together, we are re-writing the traditional mainstream approach to beauty and skincare on an international scale. We are a collective group of passionate people who have come together to take our expertise to the next level, offering the world a better way to care for their skin and bodies- one that is better for the environment too.
